The Great Taste Awards are regarded amongst the highest accolades in the fine food sector. The stringent product evaluations are run by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers and are open to every fine food producer and artisan food importer in the UK. The gold winning products include the Garthwaite family’s own home produced pork, locally produced beef, dry cured bacon, home cured ox tongue and dessert favourites including pecan pie and fruit crumble. Managing Director, Edward Garthwaite says, “We are always aiming to provide the best possible local produce and to have it nationally recognised is great for team morale. The awards couldn’t have come at a better time for us. Our new Coffee Shop and Restaurant opens in two weeks time where we really will be able to show these products off at their very best.” These awards also come at a time where the family business has invested in a state of the art production facility which is almost complete. Production capacity for these award-winning lines will increase allowing yet more potential for future product development. Locally sourced meats will be smoked in the sophisticated German built smoker and a new line of patisserie and confectionary will also be introduced. Our award winning products include; Sausage Rolls Traditional Muesli Pecan Pie Ox Tongue Five Fruit Crumble Broccoli and Stilton Soup Rolled Bacon Boneless Supreme Pork Loin Sirloin Steaks Five of our products, which include Sausage Rolls, Sirloin Steaks, Boneless Supreme Pork Loin, Dry Cured Rolled Bacon and Five Fruit Crumble have been awarded 2 star Gold. These products are 'exquisite' according to the Supreme Jury. |
