The Bakery

One of our family directors Anne Garthwaite runs the bakery team, charged with producing a vast quantity of fresh baking, bread, ready meals, soups, cooked meats and much more.

We are committed to making the freshest food without using additives or preservatives, also the lowest possible amounts of salt. (White bread = less than 1g salt per 100g).

We use only local free-range eggs in all our baking. The Bakery team use approximately 2000 free-range eggs a week.

Our homemade quiches have consistently been awarded over 95% and Gold Awards in product evaluations; our Quiche Lorraine received 100% (Q Guild Smithfield Awards).

We make everything from scratch following traditional recipes, the only item we source is puff pastry for our sausage rolls. This is made in Scotland. Our bakery and kitchens produce over 150 varieties of fresh products from croissants to pork liver and brandy pâté.

We are continually developing new products in The Bakery, our newest products on sale in The Farm Shop include;

  • Chocolate brownies
  • Chocolate dipped flapjack
  • St. Valentine's shortbread biscuits
We also produce the bakery products on sale in The Barn Coffee Shop.
